Magazine | Local authority launches financial advice service to its 18,500 employees
Financial advice is being offered to employees of one of the largest local authorities in Scotland. North Lanarkshire Council has launched the free service and made it available to all its employees in an effort to look after the health and wellbeing of its 18,500 staff.
The service will offer a range of financial advice options including information savings and investments, retirement planning, tax advice mortgage information and other benefits. Staff can opt to attend seminars or receive one-to-one advice with an advisor or, and can opt to have the meetings with independent financial advisors at work, at home, on the phone or via email.
The service had a high profile launch last month with advertisements on the organisations intranet, staff magazine and leaflets sent out attached to employee’s payslips.
North Lanarkshire Council’s head of human resources, Iris Wylie, said: ‘We are committed to supporting our employees and, particularly in this economic situation, it is important we can offer them access to quality, independent financial advice.’
